THE WIGGLES LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION SHOW! 2003 AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL TOUR Now in their 13th successful year - The Wiggles continue to capture the imagination of children around the world having now sold over ten million videos and two and a half million albums! It is estimated that one in every two toddlers in Australia has sung and danced along to The Wiggles either at a live concert, on CD or video. The Wiggles will have spent four months touring the USA this year. Their August tour sold over 220,000 tickets with people camping overnight to purchase the sought after tickets! They have been invited to take part in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York for the 3rd time! This famous parade has a viewing audience over 50 million. Even more remarkable and indicative of The Wiggles huge American success is that The Wiggles will perform six sold out shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden Theatre in October 2003. 2003 also saw The Wiggles release the animated video SPACE DANCING featuring Australian rock legend ROSS WILSON performing the Australian classic EAGLE ROCK which he re-recorded for the first time. This was released as The Wiggles first ever single – which just recently went GOLD!! Next came the CD and video WHOO HOO! WIGGLY GREMLINS!, and then after 13 years of telling Jeff to WAKE UP! –The Wiggles released a CD that puts their audience to sleep!! But that’s OK it Is called GO TO SLEEP JEFF! – full of relaxing lullabies and stories. So what better way to finish another incredibly successful year than to travel around Australia for the annual Big Show tour. The “Lights, Camera, Action Show!” will feature all The Wiggles friends including Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog and the lovable pirate Captain Feathersword. This year’s big show has some surprises for Wiggles fans with inflatable stage props including a larger than life “Inflatable Jeff”, interactive video, six dancers, new colourful costumes which include monkeys and elephants and for the first time on stage will be a nine piece band! The Lights, Camera, Action Show! will finish with a Christmas climax as SANTA CLAUS sings and dances his way on stage, wahoo!
