Toddle on over By Becca Costello Still life, with Wiggle. Heads up to all SN&R readers under the age of six! The Wiggles, Australia’s foremost rock band for the toddling crowd, are giving a concert at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. A mix of early childhood education (three of the band were pre-school teachers) and pop sensibilities (two were members of 1980s Aussie rockers The Cockroaches), The Wiggles are so big Down Under that one in two children under the age of five owns their video. The secret of their appeal? Says Wiggle Anthony Field, “Kids this age think the world revolves around them, so we make sure we include them in everything.” Their stage show offers original songs, audience-participation skits and visits from friends like Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus. Be there and be ready to wiggle, 2pm Sunday. Tickets are $16. 1515 J St. Call 264-5181 for more info. |
