OUR FAVORITES

TWO LAKES CAMPGROUND - Drummond/Cable
This is our favorite.  No official site so I made my own.
Rustic, this is real camping! $12/14

PINE HARBOR - Chippewa Falls
Our favorite in the Eau Claire area.  Very nice, close to Lake Wissota.  Clean, well maintained, family oriented.  Good sized sites, 2-3x larger than others in the area.  water/electric  $18

LAKE CHIPPEWA - Hayward
Another favorite.  It really is as nice as the website says!
On the downside, its a 20-25 mile drive from Hayward
w/e $23, lakeside $29.

STATE PARKS
LAKE WISSOTA STATE PARK Chippewa Falls
COPPER FALLS STATE PARK - Mellon
BLACK RIVER STATE FOREST - Black River Falls
MILL BLUFF STATE PARK -
HIGH CLIFF STATE PARK
AMNICON FALLS
PATTISON
OTHER CAMPGROUNDS

ASTIGO (DODGE) COUNTY PARK - Columbus
Not bad for a county park, only a few miles from home.  On a peninsula in the Crawfish River.  Some sites may be hard to get a trailer in,  mosquitos are
very bad in July!.  $10/13

ELMER'S - Altoona/Eau Claire
inexpensive, nothing fancy, electric/water,
pretty much a place to stop for the night on your way north. $10 (?)

HAYWARD KOA - Hayward
Never thought of KOA's as "real" camping, but this one is not bad. It's just north of Hayward so its very convenient. The downside to that is its cramped and crowded. Cool playground, heated pool, etc.  Plenty to keep the kids busy, they love it..       w/e.  $27

O'NEIL CREEK - Chippewa Falls
Nice campground, great playgrounds for the kids.  Its a  large campground, so if Pine Harbor or Lake Wissota are full, they'll probably be able to cram you in somewhere. (Read between the lines).   w/e  $22

SISCO'S PINE RESORT - Hayward
On the Chippewa Flowage.  Small & basic but nice.  Decent sites.  water/electric $22 (?)  On-site tavern/office.
