Then she sang the VERY SAD "Concrete Angel", "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", "Blessed", "A Broken Wing", "Whatever You Say" (she did an acapella version of some of the verses after she was through with the song), "Love's The Only House"(she played the harmonica great!!) and then she said "Independence Day" would be her last song. I REALLY didn't want her to leave!! She did an acapella of the chorus before and It was so great!!! But when she left the stage, we all started banging our feet and screaming so she came back out and sang "Where Would You Be" (she didn't make one mistake!! And that is a REALLY hard song to sing.) I think my favorite songs she sang were the upbeat ones like "When God Fearin Women get the Blues" "I Love You" and all of the other ones!! Of course, I loved the ballads because It was all Martina. I screamed out a few times when there was no one else screaming. I hope she heard me!!!! I was so into the music, that nothing else seemed to be going on around me!
Between songs people kept giving her roses and she seemed to appreciate them alot!! She wore some mardi gras beads a little boy gave her at the end of the show. I wish I could have gone down by the stage and shook her hand! She was wearing a black shirt with and black leather pants that were really cool!
Ok now about my seats. I was SO close! We were over to the right side of the stage, and every once and whil Martina would walk over and sing towards our side. I waved at her every time! My dad brought the binoculars because he thought we'd be farther away, but we weren't, so when we looked in the binoculars we could see Martina up close! When I looked at her once In the binoculars she looked at me!! I am still shocked that I was so close to the one and only MARTINA! She is just as pretty as she is on TV and in pictures. I wish I were as pretty as she is.
That concert will always be one of the best days of my life. I am now a bigger Martina fan than I was before and there is a reason. She has the most amazing voice in the world, and shes not a fake, like so many artists today. When you hear her sing on the CD, she will sing that song even better live. I can't stop listening to Martina's music even more now that I saw her live! Way to go on your "Female Vocalist Of The Year", you deserved it so much!!
