Duo Maxwell stared at the stars above him as he lay down on the wet grass. There he sat, thinking....about his feelings and affection towards the Perfect Soldier. His heart wasn't sure about this. His mind was trembling with fear to accept such fate. How can such a feeling enter his heart? All his life, he'd dreamt about falling in love with a beautiful girl his age...but certainly not this! Duo was confused...is it true? Was he in love with Heero Yuy?

Such thing had never occured his mind until the feeling of envy came to him everytime he saw Trowa and Quatre hugging each other and those sweet quick kisses before any mission. He had been meaning to tell this to someone but is it the right thing to do? Telling Heero about his affection to him is like....telling something to a brick wall. Will Heero respond? Will there be a chemistry reaction between them? Heero Yuy? The Perfect Soldier? There doesn't seem to be any possible chance....not even the slightest!
**You came around, I can't fake it**
**You've won the better part of me**
**You turn around, I can't take it**
**You've shown me world's I've never seen**

"I better give up while I'm ahead. There's no use telling Heero that I love him. I'm sure there'll be another girl for me. Anyway, Relena's in love with Heer too," said Duo to himself, crying. His heart felt as if it were torn into two. "Heero...,"

Meanwhile inside, Heero was at his room,sitting at the window sill, secretly staring at Duo who was still lying down outside. He sighed alone to himself as he pressed his palms on the clear glass. A feeling so strange entered his heart. Somehow, he felt that Duo Maxwell was different from the other Gundam pilots.

Yes, he's talkative,happy-go-lucky and annoying. But, it seemed to Heero that Duo's happy face was just a mask. He'd seen the real Duo, without the mask, when he was fighting in his Deathscythe. He was unique and had quality. Well, Duo was indeed his closest friend who always entertains him and kept following him everywhere, annoying him most of the time.

"Baka," he said to himself. //Duo Maxwell is the most moronic guy that ever lived on this planet. He's a nuisence, brainless, most unbearable to be with, can't be counted on at all,....sweet, funny, amazing,...cute...//

Heero suddenly stopped his thoughts. His eyes widen. Why was he thinking about Duo? What....was wrong with him? Why Duo?
**You say the words, unspoken**
**Somehow you hold the remedies**
**You read my thoughts, you know my motions**
**Without a doubt, you filled that vacancy**

A shudder ran through him. He felt goosebumps climbing on his shoulders. Duo suddenly appeared in front of him. Amazingly, Heero smiled back.

"Heero!"

Heero turned around with a smile on his face, thinking that it was Duo who called for him. Unfortunately, Relena was he one who stood at the doorway. He turned back to Duo, but he wasn't there anymore. Duo was still outside, it was just...his imagination.

Slowly, Heero hugged his own body and knelt down on the hard cold floor. His mind was unclear about mostly everything. He faced the floor without even looking or even answering Relena who was calling for him. Suddenly he felt warm. He felt someone hugging him with care, with love. Someone was hugging him tenderly cocooning him in it's arms from his back. Heero closed his eyes briefly, smiling to himself as his heart whispered Duo's name over and ove again.

He felt someone's soft lips touching his ear, tickling it, whispering to him....."Ai shiteru, Heero,"

The moment suddenly stopped. Everything just went away. Heero quickly turned around, hoping so much that it wasn't waht he thought. The look of horror was seen on his face. It wasn't Duo who was hugging him all this while, it was....Relena!

Behind her was a shadow of a boy standing at the doorway. A boy with a long braid. Heero shook his head in disbelief, repeating to himself he didn't see it....he didn't.....Duo didn't!. Heero pushed Relena away from him as he stood up and walked slowly towards the Duo.

"It's not what you think," he said as he shook his head again with his eyes widen in fear of losing something that really meant something to him. But before Heero could grab his arm, Duo had ran away. "Nooo...No Duo! Stop!"

Heero's words echoed in his head as he ran through the corridor. He was in great despair. Duo felt as if he was the loser in their love triangle. "Heero wouldn't have wanted me either," he shouted to himself, knocking his own head. Finally he'd stopped running, he can't run away from fate. It's useless! Duo covered his face with his palms as he leaned over the wall and slowly squat down....crying. He'd finally got the guts to go to Heero and express his love but....it was true...Heero and Relena are lovers.
**I don't know what I'm feeling**
**But I know it feels so right**
**Everything I'm revealing**
**Baby I know it's for you**
**It must be love**

"A**h***! I God damn f*****g hate you Heero Yuy!" he began swearing. "I....love you Heero Yuy. I love you...,".Duo could no longer control his tears. He began to recall the fun times he had with the Wing pilot when they were nothing but just...friends. The times he would laugh at his own jokes and Heero would just sit next to him with his laptop and wouldn't even bothered to talk to him. The times when they helped each other when they were both in trouble. The times....that are now just memories.

He'd never like Heero as a friend anymore, his feelings are now more than that. His emotional feelings were slowly taking over him. The words 'shinigami' chanted at his lips. Without even thinking sanely, he walked towards his room as if he was drunk. Slowly, he pulled open a drawer from his desk and took out his spare gun. Duo held it inside his mouth as he briefly closes his teary eyes, and slowly pulled the trigger.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," a male voice was saying. Duo recognized the voice, it was none other than...Heero Yuy! Duo turned around and saw Heero leaning against the door, with his arms crossed. Heero unfolded it as he walked towards Duo and immediately pulled the gun away from Duo. "I knew you'd do such a thing. So I took the bullets out,"

"But why did you -?"

"Shhh....," said Heero as he closed Duo's mouth with his palm. "Relena and I -," Duo felt his heart breaking again as he heard Relena's name ."... are not lovers,"

Duo looked into Heero's eyes deeply. A felt nervously happy as Heero said that. Slowly Heero pulled his hands away from Duo's mouth and leaned forward...closer to Duo. Both eyes were shut. He could feel Heero's warm breath over his face. Heero lips touched his. The kiss were like fireflies dancing on his skin as Heero cocooned him in his arms, whispering softly into his ear "Ai shiteru, Duo,".
