What is Love

Love is an extension of the soul
An immaterial purified essence

Love does not confine; it frees
Love does not charm; it blesses
Love is not a sporadic zeal
For it is eternal

The most evil of all evil cannot touch love
For it cannot be stolen or destroyed

Love has no depth; for it is depthless
No height; for it is heightless
Love cannot be measured
For it is infinite

Love is an everlasting, immortal entity
Which develops us into what we are meant to be

We must allow this love
To flow through our souls
Deeper than the deepest ocean
Higher than the highest mountain

Love is not of the blood nor of the flesh
It is a spirit which unfolds from the softest of silks

Love is a transcendental ball of passion
One touched by loves passion is never the same
For love in its purest form
Is a shared affection of boundless ardor

Love does not detest nor limit
For pure love is unconditional

Prince of Darkness

In the deep silence of the night
He appears mysteriously
Ripping and tearing through
My wretched soul

He breathes fear and doubt
So deep inside me
He imprisions me with chains
Of solitude and terror

Gently, he cuts through my heart
With his jagged sword
I bleed endless tears of
distress and agony

Yearning for the freedom
Of this unbearable confinement
My being screams
For peace and harmony

As I awake to the beauty
Of the new dawn
I feel raped of
All dignity and power

My spirit cries for
The Gods to protect me
For the moment, I find
Relief from the insanity

I feel the warmth of
Sunbeams on my face
I breathe in sweet scents
Of sporadic blossoms

I feel tranquility
embedded in the wind
I taste the essence of
Wine within my blood

I am relieved of
Agony and suffering
And given serenity
By an unknown presence...

Until the deep silence of
The night comes again
And I am dreadfully reunited with
My Prince of Darkness

I Set You Free

Each night before I fall asleep...
A tear rolls gently down my cheek...

Echoes of your name...images of your face...
The taste of your kiss...feeling your warm embrace...

Of the way you held me in your arms so tight...
Of the beautiful love we made each night...

Of the way you softly caressed my hair...
And knowing deep within that you truly cared...

There were no words to define...
The love betwixt your heart and mine...

Reflections of our first date out in the snow...
Recalling the saddness when you had to go...

The walks, the talks, the dinners, the tears...
Losing you was such an overwhelming fear...

These things I remember seem so long ago...
I never thought we would seperate our souls...

So now my fears have become reality...
There is no longer a "you and me"...

The laughter is gone...it hurts so bad...
We've lost our bond...I feel so sad...

Hearts destroyed...beyond repair...
The unhappiness at times is so hard to bear...

Now we are traveling different roads...
With each carrying our own seperate load...

The damage is done...the willingess gone...
This pain inside...just can't go on...

No longer an "us"... can't you see?
For you are You and I am Me...

There is so much healing for me to do...
But with the help of God I will make it through...

If I should die before the next day I see...
Remember I love you and that is why I set you free...

Claybank Hill

Now as I was young and simple under the cherry branches
About the merry house and happy as the sky was blue
The twinkling nighttide above the rural earth,
Time let chortle and soar
Precious in the golden-age of her eyes,
And admired among nature, I was princess of the forest
And once under a time I proudly owned the trees and animals
Trail rocks and grapevines
In harmony with wilderness of the daylight.

And I was blue and carefree, famous among the country
About the happy lawn and singing as the homeplace was cozy,
In the daystar that is youthful once only,
Time let me play and breathe
Precious is the grace of her manner,
And blue and precious I was heroic and fearless, the birds
Sang to my command, the lions roared clear and cold,
And the angels came slowly
To the limbs of the sacred trees.

All the daylight long it was graceful, it was pleasant, the forest
As high as the sky, the tunes from the leaves, it was air
And playing, lovely and delightful
And fire blue as the sky.
And nightly under the starlight
As I flew to sleep, the crickets were surrounding the grass away
All the nighttide long I heard, sacred among the forest, the wind
Blowing with ease, and wild animals
Blazing into the dark.

And then to awaken, and the homeplace, like a drifter
With the dew, come back, the bird on her shoulder, it was all
Sparkling, it was Eve and her lad,
The sky awoke again
And the clouds were feathery that very day.
So it must have been after the delivery of the simple light
In the first, the mesmerized birds flying graciously
Out of the wild blue forest
Up to the skies of praise and brilliance.

And honored among pheasants and lions by the homeplace
Under the new made sun and happy as a lark,
In the clouds made over and over,
I ran my carefree ways,
My wishes raced through the sky high trees
And nothing I cared, at my sky blue playtimes, that time allows
In all her melodious change so few and such daybreak tunes
Before the children blue and carefree
Follow her out of grace

Nothing I cared, in the simple days, that time would take me
Out to the crowded towns by the shadow of my hand,
In the moonbeam that is always ascending,
Nor that flying to sleep
I should hear her fly with high trees
And awake to the homeplace forever escaping from the childless land.
Oh as I was young and innocent in the mercy of her manners,
Time held me blue and lifeless
Though I sang in my shackles like the seasons.
