Ace is a 9 year old Papillon bred by Leona Domino of Domino Papillons. Ace was my first papillon and a terrific introduction to the breed. He was 2.5 years old when he came to live with me to train for obedience. Ace quickly earned his CD, CDX, UCD, and UCDX, and then later his UD, with very nice scores and many high scoring toy and papillon awards. Ace earned his NA and NAJ in one show weekend, with all first placements, and later went on to earn his NAP. He received placements on every leg of every AKC title he earned. In January of 2003 I learned that Ace has a heart condition (mitral valve degeneration) that prevents him from participating in vigorous activity, however Ace still enjoys obedience and since that time has earned his ASCA CD (with scores ranging from 193 to 198.5), a UKC High in Trial, and has placed in many veteran's obedience classes, including earning a 198 (the highest score of the day) at the 2005 Papillon National Specialty in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mostly retired (aside from the occasional veteran's obedience performance), Ace enjoys life to the utmost. He still insists on being trained, and loves not having to worry about accuracy! He was thrilled when I brought Snow home-- finally a girlfriend instead of another pesky little brother. Ace sleeps on my bed every night, enjoys playing with mini tennis balls and stuffed ducks, and is my constant companion at home. I look forward to many more years with him. |
