Montana Wrestling Trip
The journey began in Vallejo on March 25th led by Coaches McNally and Guiducci, as well as the Luke and Sandoval families.Over the course of the trip, the group travelled roughly 2,700 miles and definitely made the most of the time .
The night of March 25th was spent at Cactus Pete's Resort in Jackpot, Nevada before the Yellowstone adventure on the 26th.
While travelling through the majestic park, the group breathed the mountain air and saw much wildlife such as buffalo, elk, antelope, deer, eagles and a mountain goat. Before exiting the park they were able to see Old Faithful burst!!!
The next two days were spent in the former coal mining town of Red Lodge, Montana. The Boulder Guest House served as headquarters while the group enjoyed the small town charm by dining at the Legendary Bogart's Restaurant and browsing the shops on Broadway.
A special visit was made, on the 27th, to pay respect to all the fallen from the Battle of The Little Big Horn.
On the 28th the Lady Wildcats stepped foot into Sturdyvant Gym in Lockwood, Montana to compete with the best from Big Sky Country at The Inaugural USGWA Montana Championships
As the only athletes from California, the group was treated well by the entire Montana Girl's Community; treated with the utmost courtesy as they battled throughout the day. Many compliments came their way about their sportsmanship and etiquette.
Unfortunately, when the event was over the Lady Wildcats had to immediately make the 1,265 mile trek from Lockwood to Vallejo. Though the trip was short-lived, the memories of the beautiful landscapes and people will endure on forever in the minds of the Lady Wildcats!!!
