Minnesota Gophers vs. Minnesota State-Mankato Mavericks

Gophers win 2-1
Another big hockey game in Mankato...this time my other alma mater, the University of Minnesota, was in town to take on the local Mavericks.  Once again I went to the game with Brian, but this time my mom Ann came along.  Brian's nephew Alec came to visit during the intermission too, and we saw his dad Wally after the game.  I hear Brian's brother was at the game too, but we didn't see him.  Our seats were two rows from the glass in a corner by a goalie...so we saw the action up close at that end of the ice.  Plenty of Gopher fans in our section too...poor Brian was surrounded by them!  Mom and I cheered on our alma mater all night long. M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A!

Lots of action on the ice...but a low score...more of a battle of the goalies.  The Mavs had plenty of scoring chances, but just couldn't find the back of the net.

This is how close we were to the action!  My new digital camera helped me virtually zoom onto the ice.  Check out the bone-crushing hits along the boards.

Lots of pressure on the Mav's goalie Volp.
More action on the ice.
