If all the creatures were gone, we would
suffer from a great loneliness of spirit, for
whatever happens to the creatures happens to us.  All things are connected.  Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth.

OUR PROGRAMS
ANIMAL AND NATURE THERAPY
A presupposition of the emerging field of ecopsychology is that no matter how much work we do on ourselves we will never feel fully healed or whole until we restore our sense of connection to our outer habitat.  This is also a basic tenet of Wildfire's use of animals and nature to promote and sustain wellness on all levels.
Time spent with the animals at Wildfire Farm is a time of restoration, a chance to experience spontanaeity, play, love, magic -- a chance to just
be.  A related benefit is the joy and self-esteem that emerge from the animals' unconditional love and from learning to handle and train a variety of animals. Of utter wonder is mastering the care, handling and riding of the horses.  Riding at Wildfire is a multifaceted experience in which the horse and rider are asked to come into joyful community with each other and the rider is asked to use his or her whole self -- body, mind, and spirit -- in the learning process.
AFTERSCHOOL RIDING PROGRAM: Two and one half hour program once a week which includes a private riding lesson for each child as well as a variety of animal and nature enrichment activities.  For ages 4 and up.  $35 per afternoon plus $5.00 monthly snack and arts and crafts fee.  Register now -- limited space available for Fall 2002

SUMMER RIDING DAY CAMP: Weekly sessions all summer with two private lessons/day and a variety of other hands-on activities.  $275/week ($250 for repeaters).

OUR MISSION
To promote the healthy emotional, social, and cognitive development of children through the use of animals and nature.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Wildfire Farm is a center of love and learning that focuses on interaction with animals and nature in an effort to foster wholeness, connection, and stewardship.  By providing an environment of closeness to animals and the earth, it seeks recovery of harmony with the natural world and its rhythms.  By honoring the magic that occurs when children, animals and Mother Earth are brought together, it seeks renewal of our joyful connection to each other, to our earth and to our innate creativity.
