The Badger Sett (markII)

Hello and welcome to my web page. I hope you find something useful or enjoyable here.  Here is a picture of me taken by my friend Star for her photography course.

This site is UNDER CONSTRUCTION so not all the things I say you can do are actually working. Never mind. I'll get round to it eventually.  If you would like to email me with your comments, send mail to wodewose@hotmail.com    or if you have hushmail, send to corwen@hushmail.com

In case you don't know me from Adam I'd best tell you something about myself. I go by the name of Corwen ap Broch, I'm an Englishman of mixed descent, born in Dorset  but normally resident in the New Forest in Hampshire. To see what the New Forest looks like click HERE.

My first love is MJ, click HERE to go to her home page. My second love is the penny whistle. To go to the best whistle related site on the web (Chiff and Fipple) click HERE, or download an MP3 (385K) of me playing the tune The Yellow Tinker from HERE. If you enjoyed that, or perhaps you are a muso yourself and would like to learn some more tunes, click HERE to go to my MP3 page and download some sets. I've compressed them as much as possible to make them quick to download. Learn them and then we'll get together for a session!

I also play bodhran, the celtic frame drum, get an MP3 of me playing HERE or go to a web site about it HERE.

AND I tinker on low whistle, djembe, mandolin (especially in open tunings, GDgd or ADad), psalteries, didjeridu and bombarde.

Whilst in normal life I am 5'6" tall, sometimes I sprout extra long legs, then I look like THIS.

This site has been very self indulgent so far. Indeed having a personal web page is an excercise in narcissism when you think about it. Here I am assuming that you, dear stranger (or friend) wish to read about me. I case you don't, and in a spirit of random acts of linkage, HERE is the personal homepage of a complete stranger, chosen at random, who you or I will probably never meet.

Anyway on with the Magnificent Corwen Show!

If you are a musician you might be interested in the abc music notation system. It is a system of writing down tunes as plain text on the PC, a little like MIDI but with smaller files and easier to write. Then you can get the computer to play them or print them out as sheet music or tablature for whatever  instrument you may play. Click HERE to go to the abc homepage and download free software, or HERE for my fave tunes in abc format.

The music on this site, by the way, is a midi arrangement of three Breton tunes by Tony. For more of his stuff click HERE.

As well as music I am interested in all things paleolithic. I have over the last 10 years been a Druid, with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids (click HERE for their homepage), been initiated as a Witch in the Alexandrian tradition, and started to practise Shamanism, or as I prefer to call it, Paleolithic Reconstructionism. Click HERE for info on shamanism, and HERE for a funky site about primitive living skills.

MJ and I do a radio show about Earth Based Spirituality on CKDU, Halifax, Nova Scotia's University radio station. Click HERE to go to the show's web site, and from there you can listen to the show, assuming its 7:00 Atlantic time, Friday night, and you have Real Player.

Thats all I've got time to write right now, thanks for reading, and see you around.

If anything isn't working on this site, it may be working on the mirror site, http://www.magma.ca/~citywich/corwen

Enormous thanks to MJ for showing me how to do all this, and for hosting the mirror site.
