Compliments

“…as beautiful as Queen Thayet!”
Ahh… the ultimate compliment of beauty. Queen Thayet is hailed as the most beautiful woman in the world, you know.

“… loyal as Tahoi to Ouna.”
A compliment indeed. A bit of background info here. Tahoi stuck with Ouna and helped her through her difficulties (when her husband abandoned her). This refers to someone who is very loyal, dependable, unwavering and supportive of his or her friend.

“He is like George Cooper…” He is the perfect guy, your life mate. If you ever encounter a “George”, grab him!!

*NEW*
"You are as good as Daine in archery!" Daine is excellent in archery *thumbs up*, so be sure to thank the person, not thump him!

"I will do a Keladry Balor's Needle act for you anytime. Just holler!" Aww... so sweet! This person just said he/she will help you in anyway they can, even to the point of doing things they dislike or fear.

Remarks

“…a Daine and Numair..”
This refers to a couple where the man is older than the woman by a big age gap. It could also be interpreted as two different people who are attracted to each another.

“…a Piers and Ilane couple.”
This refers to a couple where the female is taller than the male.

“Your parents are like Piers and Ilane…”
Parents that put their children’s welfare above everything else. They support and encourage their children to follow their dreams, no matter how unconventional it may be.

“…do not be a Ozorne to a Daine.”
This means that you should not underestimate your enemy/rival, or he/she/it will strike/finish you when you least expect it.

“…a Emperor Mage in full splendour.”
This phrase means that you are overwhelmingly dressed in jewels and other expensive and impressive ornaments and clothing. Another meaning could be that you are very impressive or awe striking. If the phrase is said sacarstically, means that you are dressed rather gaudy.

“… like Perrin to Daine.”
Little background info, Perrin wanted to bed Daine. This means that a boy is only interested in a girl for sex. (Hmmm.. I didn't know if this would be an insult to
some pple, so in remarks it is.)

“…you are like a Rikash.”
This means that although you may be rough and gruff and seemingly unappealing on the outside, you are good and basically a nice guy in the inside. In another context, “Give him another chance, he is like a Rikash.” In this context, the latter mentioned may have given you a bad first impression, but you should scrape away the outer layers to find a very nice person.

“You speak like Numair…”
It means that you speak using bombastic words, words more than 3 syllabus.

*NEW*
"You know, you are like a Keladry fresh from the Yamani Islands..." That means you are hiding your emotions very well, the speaker cannot tell what you are feeling.

"Give him time, prove to him your capability, he is a Lord Wyldon, not a Quinden." Okay, you need a bit of POTS info to know this remark. Lord Wyldon was a training master who insisted that Kel had to go through a probitionary year. Later, he accepts Keladry as she is, albeit grudgingly, when he realises her potential. Quinden is an anti-Keladry person, who will stick to his childish misconceptions even to the point of idiocy.
So, this speaker is saying, that although the "him" may be unreceptive of you, give him time, prove yourself and he will see you as what you are!

"Sighh... I am having a Neal Crush syndrome!" The speaker is saying that he has crushes easily and that oohh.. that guy over there is soooo... cute!! I like him, but I won't ever admit my feelings.

Insults

“… a Roger Conte!”
The ultimate insult. Roger Conte is a treacherous, two faced back stabber.

“…a Ozorne!”
A egocentric, megalomaniac, power hungry person who underestimates his enemies.

“… do not be taken by him, he will turn out to be an Ouna’s husband.”
Ouna’s husband had beaten and abandoned Ouna. This is a horrible insult to the male species. It refers that the man will turn out to be a bad husband. A wife beater, abuser, or unreliable, irresponsible. Little advice, if your friend tells you your fiancé will turn out to be like “Ouna’s husband”, take heed and rethink your marriage decision.

“… stink like a Stormwing.”
A very simple insult. Stormwings are immortals with an appalling smell with an odour that can be smelt even if you are upwind. This insult could refer that you have extremely bad Body Odour or horribly bad breath.

“… like Tristan Staghorn!”
This refers to a powerful person who is treasonous, hypocritical and cunning. Be wary of all “Tristan Staghorn”.

“Be careful, he may be like Ozorne to his birds…”
A bit of background info, Lindhall warned Daine that Ozorne only shows his good side to his birds and that she should be wary of him. This means a person who shows his/her good side only to a certain person/object, when in reality, he is actually the opposite.

*NEW*

"You Vinson!" Gasp! What an insult. Vinson is a bully and a sexist pig. So I advise you to retort with a "Look who is talking" or just glance through this list for an appropriate comeback.

" You just don't know when to shut up do you? Stop being a Neal!" Neal is a POTS boy who just doesn't know when to shush for his own good. The speaker is trying to tell you that you are putting your foot in your mouth, or digging yourself into a deeper hole.
