How You Remind Me....

Never made it as a wise man

I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealin'

Raul sat with his head in his hands, fists clenched. One thought ran through his head all the time now, Why me? Why, why me?

Tired of livin' like a blind man

I'm sick of sight without a sense of feeling

I should have seen it coming,' he thought miserably. But why? Didn't I give her what she wanted? All that she asked for?

This is how you remind me

This is how you remind me of what I really am

Raul's hand reached out to grab his one true friend, one that would never, or rather could never leave him. The memory came flooding back to him with full force. . .

It's not like you to say sorry, I was waiting on a different story

This time I'm mistaken for handing you a heart worth breaking

He had just come home, bearing callalilies, her favorite, when he saw her there with him, the one that had ruined his life.

I've been wrong, I've been down, been to the bottom of every bottle

These five words in my head scream "are we havin' fun yet?"

He drank deeply from the bottle of alcohol in his fist, enjoying the fiery feel slide down his throat. What hadn't he done for her? They had been engaged! Diamonds. . . real diamonds. . .

It's not like you didn't know that

I said I love you and I swear I still do

Raul's thoughts returned to the memory of that day, that day that had changed his life forever. . . As soon as he had seen Anara with him he had lost it. He threw things, many things. He had broken things; broken people. He did not like to remember that day.

And it must have been so bad

Cause livin' with me must have damn near killed you

He had sworn to get vengeance on that man, the man who had stolen away his love. Raul had also sworn to get back at Anara, how dare she betray him like that? How dared she?

This is how you remind me of what I really am

This is how you remind me of what I really am

It's not like you to say sorry, I was waiting on a different story

This time I'm mistaken for handing you a heart worth breaking

Raul took another swig from his bottle. He had loved her. She had betrayed him. What I did was right, he assured himself, but for some reason that alone didn’t; work any more. He took another drink.

I've been wrong, I've been down, been to the bottom of every bottle

These five words in my head scream "are we havin' fun yet?"

He picked up the bottle for another and found himself staring at the bottom. He shrugged, tossed the empty bottle onto a pile of others like it and reached for another.

Never made it as a wise man

I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealin'

This is how you remind me

This is how you remind me of what I really am

He had loved her. She had betrayed him. Why?

It's not like you to say sorry, I was waiting on a different story
