~!~ Passion and Thoughts ~!~
Written by Mages Whisper
Daine settled more firmly in Numair’s embrace, pushing against his body with more pressure then he was willing to allow.  ‘Numair, I’m cold.  Hold me.  No one is coming, so just hold me.’  The couple stood in the open heavily curtained balcony that over looked the dark forest at the rear of King Jonathan’s and Queen Thayet’s Corus Palace.  The nighttime mists were beginning to creep over the sea and to swirl within the twisted branches of the trees.  Caressing the foliage like a lover, urging the Royal Forest to give up its daytime activities to the peace and passion of the dark.

‘Daine we have talked about this.  I know our relationship is changing and most of me rejoices in that but as I have explained…’ He twisted her around to face him ‘…Daine you have to give me time.  I love you, that’s not the issue, but I think we should wait.  I’m so, so much older than you.  You have a lot of growing still left to do, and I don’t want to take away your childhood, while you still have the freedom to be a child.’  He looked down into her determined eyes wanting her to understand that he wanted to make love to her more than anything but that he generally felt guilty about being with her.  That he was denying her something, that she deserved to experience romance with a boy her own age, despite how much he shuddered at the idea of her loving another.  He watched as her eyes darkened to the colour of the sky before a storm.

‘You think I’m a child?  Numair I haven’t been a child since I found my family dead.  Since I killed every one of the murderous fiends that took them away from me.  Since I have hunted down and killed for my Crown.  And you feel that I’m a child because I’ve never made love to a man.  What makes me a child exactly?’  Daine spat in sudden anger at the man she loved.  She pushed him away from her, but stared into his face.  ‘I know my own mind Numair.  I love you!  Think about how many times we have nearly died.  Think about how many times in the future that we might not be as lucky.  Are we so wrong to take comfort in each other so that we can push aside the evil we fight everyday.’

‘Daine, I’m not saying that it is wrong to love its just that I’m saying that there are always consequences to our actions’ Daine breathed in and approached him again, sliding her hands around his waist.  ‘Numair I know that.  I have a charm against pregnancy, and I know that there are illnesses that can be caught from, from well sex.  But I know you; we have been together for the last three years.  Think about it, we’ve hardly even been separated for a couple of weeks at most.  Where one has gone the other has followed.  I want you, don’t you think that I know my own mind?’

Numair leaned down and kissed her gently, feeling the warmth and tingle that that contact caused throughout his body.  A tingle that caused parts of his large strong body to mellow and others to tense.  He pulled back as she tried to close the space between them.  ‘Daine, please’

‘No!’  And with that word she compelled him to respond to her.  ‘You want me and I want you.  With others its different, they haven’t the trust, the understanding that you and I share.’  The wild side of Daine sort to possess Numair but she wouldn’t force him to obey, he wasn’t a subordinate in her pack.  He was her mate, and for a pack to survive it had to have harmony and a shared purpose.  ‘You are my mate.  You will see, and understand.’  She kissed him with all the fire that her body held, running her hands up and down his body.  Daine scored hot kisses down over his face and throat, lost in her own passion.  A passion that was intensified when he began to return and take from her heat.

Through their kisses Daine tried to understand the words that he was telling her.  She forced her mind back into focus to listen to him.

‘I do want you, and I will make love to you sweetling if you want me too, but you’ll be forcing me.’

With that heat infused statement Daine stopped and looked at him.  His face held a look of shame, that underlined his want of her, and finally she understood.  Instantly she pulled back from his embrace.  ‘You really do feel guilty don’t you about our relationship.’

Numair sort to get his breath back, and rein in the sexual feelings that Daine had stirred up, again.  He nodded at her question, as speech was quiet beyond him at that second.

‘Well I guess I’d better go then.’  Daine said with determination.  She began to turn around, only to be caught by a strong hand.

‘Your not saying its over are you Daine?’  Numair’s voice was filled with a sudden panic.

She laughed, and then smiled at his concern.  ‘No’ she replied with maturity.  ‘I just want to go to my own rooms now without changing my mind at the way you look in those breeches.  Black really suits you and I adore your boots.  You cannot get better than a man in breeches, boots and a billowing shirt.  Cannot get better than you in breeches, boots and a billowing shirt.’  She blushed at her bold flirting, which was strange when thinking of the conversation that they had just had.  She could talk about love with him, but when it came to physically appraising him and telling him of it she became embarrassed.

‘Why the sudden change of mind then?’ he asked curious, warmed by her comments.

‘’Cuz, when we make love, you are not going to feel guilty about it.  You are going to feel as right about every touch and every sigh as I do.  I love you; I thought before that you were stalling on my account.  I never thought that it was because you were scared also.’  Daine smiled a good night at him loving him even more for knowing that he wasn’t trying to make up her decisions for her but because he wanted to be as sure about their relationship as she was.

‘Daine you understand and respect my reasons?’

‘Now I do, I was worried before that you still were trying to tutor me.  You’re a fairly amazing man.  Anyone ever tell you that?’

‘Your fair mazer your self’ he grinned mimicking the accent that she still faintly possessed.  ‘Do you know Daine, I don’t think that I had truly appreciated how grown up you were until this moment.’

‘Numair meet me tomorrow.  Here.  I love this view.  We can go flying together.’

‘Always’ He replied knowing that she meant flying both figuratively and metaphorically.

‘Tomorrow’

The marble balcony was silent for a few moments after the couple had both walked down the steps together, not quite touching but belonging to one another.  It was suddenly awakened by the sound of a naughty giggle as a red headed women who clothes were slightly askew crept out from behind the heavy drapery.  She was followed a second later by a tall man who eyes possessed a wicked twinkle.

‘My God, my darling thief, I thought that they was going to catch us playing games where we shouldn’t have been.’  The women grinned at her partner in crime, who was chuckling while rearranging his breeches.  ‘Me too.  I thought that this was just our spot for fun.  Now its seems our tall friend and our little one have found our den!’

‘Well I’m glad that I now know why that have been fluttering about each other.’

‘You mean you hadn’t guessed before My Lady?’  Said the man as he yanked the women into his arms.

‘I’d guessed you old scoundrel, but I hadn’t realised that they had finally figured out that they loved one another’

The old Rouge smiled down at the woman whom he had loved for what seemed forever.  ‘Some people are just blind about who they really love pet’ and with that comment he dived away from the punch that the Lioness aimed at his midsection and ran off laughing down the steps that the two lovers had recently departed.

‘Men!’ she snorted, stood still with her hands on her hips for a moment, and then gave chase deep into the Corus Palace corridors after the tall thief.  ‘Come here you mangy cur!’
