On September 18 thru 21, 2008 the Memphis chapter of the Wild Pigs MC hosted the annual Wild Pigs National Party & Meeting.  Party headquarters was in downtown Memphis at the Hampton Inn Hotel located at Third & Peabody Place where everyone was welcomed to a hospitality room on the main floor where beverages of your choice and snacks were furnished along with the registration.  This became the meeting & party area for the few down times during the meeting.

A few members came into town early and we met up at Hooters (across the street from the hotel) for more socializing and then later to world famous Beale Street (1/2 block behind the hotel) where morning came quickly.  I hear some members found their bed just before daylight.  The next morning was the official beginning & registration at the hospitality room.  At approximately 6:00 pm we walked everyone (approx 75 in all) the short block to the world famous Rendevous restaurant, home of some of Memphis' finest bar-b-que.  We were furnished with a large room just for the Wild Pigs with the tab being picked up by local businesses.  Barry Marshall, one of our charter members, was primarily responsible for getting the tab taken care of.  Many thanks to Barry because the tab overall was in the $2500 range.  After dinner we went in several different directions to party in smaller groups, but, as would be expected, the largest group once again found Beale St and once again tried to close it down (5 am).

The next morning we escorted everyone to Graceland, home of Elvis, and took a tour of the mansion and the grounds.  As has become the norm for a national meeting heavy rain found us while we were finishing up at Graceland.  We waited it out and rode back to the hotel without getting too wet.  However, our lunch at Interstate Bar-B-Que got rained out.

As night began to fall we rode to "Omar's Paint Shop" and were furnished free beer while we perused his handiwork with the paint and checked out his shop.  After that we rode to the Hog Head Saloon (local biker hangout) and partied until late.  I even heard some again found Beale Street after leaving Hog Head.

Saturday morning we rode to the Memphis Police Association offices where Randy chaired  our business meeting.  In the afternoon we rode to Bumpus HD for a Police Memorial service and free hotdogs and soft drinks before heading out to the country to party at Dan McNamara's house where there was live music, bar-b-que (again) and refreshments (beer) furnished by the Memphis Chapter.  If you missed this party you missed one of the highlights of the week.  Dan's house is set up more like an outdoor party bar than explanations could show.  You would have had to have  seen it to really understand.

Sunday morning everyone packed up and headed home to wait on next years party hosted by Central Florida (Daytona Beach).
