About the Instructors: We are a small group of experienced dancing teachers based in Europe & the U.S. who conduct workshops and live music dances throughout the United States, Canada & Europe. We are highly regarded among folk dancing enthusiasts. We constantly tour coast to coast. We also host renowned Irish dance master Timmy McCarthy of Cork, and musicians such as Donncha Lynch, Ronan Lynch and Caitlin Begley of the famous Begley family of West Kerry. We specialize in the teaching of the traditional West Clare 'battering steps' as well as setdancing styles of Cork, Kerry, Clare, Tipperary and other regions of Ireland. We have spent many years researching the various regional styles of traditional Irish dances, including the West Clare step. We break down the intricate percussive footwork to enable everyone to learn it. (instructional dance video: 'Step by Step Guide to the Clare Reel Step'. ) We have also produced the Setdancing CD featuring the renowned traditional music of the Donncha Lynch Band: 'Set Dances of Cork & Kerry' and authored the accompanying Setdancing instruction manual, 'Irish Setdancers Handbook: Set Dances of Cork & Kerry.' |
