Indian Fry Bread
Ingredients:

5 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter
2 cups milk
Oil for frying (vegetable or canola is good)

Directions:

Measure 4 cups of flour, add baking powder and salt.
Mix together and set aside.
Melt butter and add it to the milk.
Add milk and butter mixture to the flour ingredients, a little at a time.  Beat until dough becomes stiff.
Sprinkle the remaining flour on a pastry board, or other flat surface and knead lightly until all of the flour is worked in.
Roll the dough into 3 circles about 1/8 inch thick and 10 inches in diameter, or if you like you can make smaller circles about 1/8 thick.  In a heavy skillet pour about 1 inch of oil and heat until hot.
Fry each piece of bread until crisp and light brown on both sides.  Serve hot.
