Layered Salad
Servings – 12 (1 cup each)

Ingredients:

2 cups shredded lettuce
2 cups spinach (May omit spinach and use 4 cups (rather than 2 cups)        lettuce
1 ½ cups mild cheddar cheese, divided
2 cups sliced mushrooms (or 1 cup sliced mushrooms, 1 cup sliced olives)
1 small red onion, sliced, separated into rings
2 cups chopped fresh plum tomatoes
1 pkg (10 oz) frozen green peas, thawed
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup sour cream
¼ cup chopped fresh basil (or 1 teaspoon dried basil)
1 teaspoon multi seasoning (such as Mrs. Dash)
4 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled

Directions:

Layer lettuce, spinach, 1 cup of the cheese, mushrooms, onion, tomatoes and peas in 3 qt serving bowl.

Mix mayo, sour cream, basil and seasoning.  Spread over salad to seal; cover.  Refrigerate at least 5 hours or overnight.

Sprinkle with remaining ½ cup cheese and crumbled bacon just before serving.
