A very talented and excited young woodworker named Murieghl from Cum an Iolair brought a chair that she had made using only period tools and techniques. This was a truly remarkable entry from a very talented and dedicated artisan. She has already been apprenticed since Queen's Prize. (Congratulations Murieghl!) She even dragged along a tremendous assortment of tools to show us all how she made it. Notice the spoon bit and its distinctive wood remnants shown above. Murieghl taught me a lot about period woodworking that day. I hope she keeps it up. It was very exciting to talk to someone so passionate about their craft! |

Lady Lasair, another truly dedicated artisan, made the most elaborately embroidered dress I've ever seen, featuring her delightful horses on the front. Click on the picture for a closer look! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
