LIVING ROOM

It's not a complete room
until the book case
is holding its stomach,
suffering after stuffing itself
with Modernist novels
and Romantic poetry.

Until the shelves have belched
after
Ulysses
and the mahogany swells
with trapped wind
in its Vonneguts,
only then
will this be a book case,
this room
be a living room.
