Chapter 4 Notes
Plotting points in the coordinate plane
(x , y)

Graph a line from an equation,
using a
table of values.

Graph a line from an equation, using the
x-intercept and the y-intercept

Graph a line using the
slope and y-intercept.

Find the
slope of a line when given 2 points.

Find the slope of a line when given the equation of
the line in
standard form.  (Solving for y)

When given the equations of 2 lines,
determine if those lines are
parallel or perpendicular
by finding and comparing slopes.

Identify and graph special lines,
Horizontal and Vertical lines,
and
Direct Variation Lines.

Use function notation, f(x) to write a linear function.
If you need help, see the link below the
coordinate plane.
Biff and his friends will be engaged in many types of mixture and motion problems.

demo of slope and y-intercept.
Chapter 5 Notes:

Write the equation of a line in
Slope-Intercept form. . .
     1.  Given the slope and y-intercept.
     2.  Given the graph of the line.
     3.  From a word problem.
     4.  Given the slope and any other point
     5.  Given 2 points
     6.  Given the equation of a parallel or
          perpendicular line and a point.

Write equations in
Standard Form.

Write equations in
Point-Slope form.

Collect data to create a
Scatter-Plot,
draw a
best-fit line, and write the equation
of that line to make predictions.
