Mooned (11/5/06)
The sky mooned the sea
and it ran away in waves
The sky mooned the blackbirds
who landed where a hungry spirit craves
In a land of night
the sky looks down with freckled face,
a million stars in its eyes
and a mischivious chuckle
a tease
a reflection of the one
who's light is too bright to bear
a promise that the sun still shines
though it doesn't come into view
not here
restless like a werewolf
howling at the glow
struggling like a seed among thorns
starving to grow
the sky mooned a man
searching as only he can
the sky mooned the sea
and now it's mooning me
..a tease, a tiny taste to view
is a taste better than nothing?
yes, many moons know this to be true
as from glass, a glint, a glare in my eyes
it's never usually that bright
and then it's gone, too quickly it dies
