"It's Emile Heskeeey! IT'S FIVE!"
"Swinehund!" We later left the train at Venice and stared in amazement, seeing that the area outside the train station was more like a harbor than a traditional Italian station (i.e. full of dodgy Arabs and prostitutes). We went to the boat public transport system and boarded the floating vessel for the 30-minute journey to the centre of this truly bizarre City. Having jumped of at St Marc's square, we first climbed the tower to get a good view of the cathedral and it's adjacent square. It was at this point that we spotted a boy, who not only was German; he also had the audacity to be an exact replica of my friend Bungle. This then led to him being called 'Boongle' and us taking more pictures of him than of Venice down below (a whole 2 pictures).
The duomo's interior is completely covered in gold. So much so that you can imagine Mr T from the A-Team being a priest and praising the god of golden medallions (foo!). I purchased the world's most expensive pizza for lunch and spent 20 minutes eating, whilst kicking pigeons in the style of Amos.
We did the entirety of Venice's tourist attractions (Rialto bridge, Academia bridge, bridge of sighs, watching bin men, checking emails) in about 3 hours, with the added bonus of visiting a sign with 'Arsenale' on it. Hoorah! We then leapt back on the first Milan bound train and annoyed other train users. Hoorah.
