Study Tips

1. Never cheat; do your own work (it's okay to compare answers after you've
both done all
    the work)
2. Form a study group of your peers
3. Never cram. Study the afternoon before the test, not an hour before.
4. Learn to take good, thorough notes
5. Read text assignments--don't just look for bolded words
6. If you don't know what something is, look it up
7. Ask questions in class if you have a chance; if not, ask right when class ends
8. Study at a desk or a table--not on your bed.
9. Reward yourself for studying: "If I read all 50 pages, I can have a Snickers."
10. Go above and beyond. Do more than what you're asked to--find out more about an
      interesting topic.
11. Use library and internet resources; the more sources you have, the more you'll know.
12. Eat a healthy snack while you study (carrots, whole wheat crackers, granola clusters)
13. Take short breaks. Your brain can only take so much at one time.
14. If you get stuck, mark that problem/question and move on. Come back to it later.
15. Listen to non-vocal music while you study (classical, jazz, etc.)
