| The area around Calico Ghost Town has some great trails for 4wheeling. It also is littered with many excellent mines! What a great area to excplore! History Back in 1881, Calico started as a small silver mining town. It shortly grew to be one of the most prosperous silver towns ever in the old west. In 1950 the town was restored to it's original condition by Walter Knott (founder of Knott's Berry Farm) and then donated to the county of San Bernardino |
