From Three Card Monte to fixing boxing, to fake burial plots, if there’s a scam or grift, Garrett has tried it. That’s why he came to London, to get out of the heat in the states. He set up shop rather quickly, even getting himself some rather convincing citizenship papers. But he made his big mistake selling a fake burial plot to old Mrs. Carmine, not knowing that that she was the grandmother of Anthony “Big Tony” Carmine. After “the family” got through with him, the police found Garrett’s body dumped in the local cemetery. They weren’t sure if they should take him to the hospital or leave him there.

When the Soviet Union collapsed, he was discharged and frequently went without work. So he became involved in the black market and illegal arms dealing. When he was nearly caught in Denmark, he fled, evetually winding up in London. He is a gizzled, quiet man, who speaks little english and speaks little at all most of the time. He hopes to meet up with a contact in London to possibly revitalize his business.
