Slayers, for one reason or another, send the undead back to the netherworld via. death. They usually do this because of family tradition or revenge. Most slayers work for the protection of humanity, and would sacrifice their own lives to save it, but evil slayers can be found. Regardless of why they chose this path, they battle the undead by using abilities gained through ancient technology (even older than that used by the Illuminati). This ancient technology manifests itself in Sigma Machines. Even the Illuminati aren't sure how they work, or if there are any adverse side effects.
