My grandsons in Australia
On
the 8th July 2006, my husband and son were at the airport with me when
we met our two grandsons. My little ones arrived in Sydney together
with my daughter, Lorena. Their father couldn't come this time.
William, the eldest, is a three year old boy with a great personality.
He still speaks in baby talk however he has an ample vocabulary using
every word in a proper way. It is really impresive.
Daniel, the youngest is a seven month old gorgeous boy. He smiles at
everybody and doesn't have a problem if someone wants to hold him. Both
have blonde hair but different eye colour. William has brown eyes and
Daniel has blue.
They travelled a long way since they left their home in the north of
England. Their daddy drove them to the airport in London. Then they
flew twenty three hours to Sydney.
We went to Featherdale Wildlife Park. We fed the kangaroos, pat the
koalas and saw other native animals. We went to the Sydney Aquarium
were we walked through a glass passage where sharks would swim
overhead. We saw an amazing quantity of sea creatures.
We also visited Sydney's Taronga Zoo. We caught a ferry on the
Parramatta River until Circular Quay and then another ferry to the zoo.
After taking a cable car from the bottom to the entry top, we saw
giraffes, the crocs, and all kinds of monkeys, reptiles, birds and
other creatures. My daughter in law made nice sandwiches so we had
lunch up there too. William and Lorena caught a choo choo train that
took them around the zoo.
We also visited some relatives. Everybody wanted to celebrate my
daughter and her son's visit to Australia. They stayed lasted for only
twelve days.
They left the 20th July 2006, leaving us feeling very sad and with a
sense of emptiness. Our wish now is to see them back in Australia very
soon.
