| What has happened to Due Process? By Eric D. Williams As a highly concerned citizen closely watching the Terri Schindler-Schiavo case, I see the end of Terri’s life approaching. Sadly, very quickly. And with the fading of her life, all of our lives have been placed in the same boat. Pinellas Circuit Court Judge George Greer has ordered her feeding tube removed, buy has he officially sentenced her to death? By removing the feeding tube, Terri will dehydrate and starve to death. Yet, as an American, Terri Schindler-Schiavo is an American. And covered under the United States Constitution, she has the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.’ I strongly urge everyone to watch Terri interact with her family here: http://web.tampabay.rr.com/ccb/videos/hows_that_cold.rm Terri is clearly happy when she is with family. But, Terri is going to die! Why has she been sentenced to death? What crime has she committed? And more importantly, why has she been sentenced to death without due process by a jury of her peers? Again, what does this say about every day Americans? This means if you can kill one without due process, you can easily kill another. People are not waking up what Terri’s case is really about. The majority of the main-stream media portray Terri as a “ severely brain-damaged” person, who would be better off dead. The truth as you can see by viewing the link above, is that she recognizes her friends and family! She is not SEVERELY brain-damaged, and many doctors have claimed that her condition can improve. Yet, when she passes, another story will replace the news wires’ headlines, and everyone who is still asleep at the wheel, will continue to stay asleep until it is too late. A recent NBC poll claims that over 60% believe Terri’s husband should be the one who has the right to decide what fate she should, and will have. But why has the judge clearly sided with Terri’s husband, who is committing adultery and has fathered two children with another woman, and not Terri’s loving and caring mother and father? Are not the cases of adultery and fathering children the proof of abandonment and not honestly caring about her or her condition? And if Terri was a cat or dog, PETA, as well as other animal right activist, would be up in arms, yet as a citizen of America, she is lying in a bed dying of dehydration and starvation. I was recently brought to tears when I read reader comments about Terri at yahoo. The majority of brain dead and asleep Americans are laughing at her condition and one subject of a reply was something to the effect of “Yawn, Is my sport on yet?” That is right Americans! Sit back in your E-Z Chair with your six pack of Bud Lite, and your bowl of potato chips. Remain asleep at the wheel while you drive off the road towards the 100 year old oak tree. And after you crash, only then, when you are in desperate need of help, I hope noone comes to your rescue. What happens to one of us, will affect us all. Wake Up America! WAKE UP!!! |
