A very cold day. I forgot to wear my long underwear and my lunch companion wanted to take the subway, so walking was out. The subway it was. |

I liked Aiello's. It was clean, which to me is always a good sign. The counter person was friendly, another good sign. The cheese steak was good enough for a return visit. I would prefer the bread untoasted, I would prefer more cheese and I would prefer hot peppers. But all in all, a delightful experience. Total cost, including a $1.00 bottle of water was $9.20. Approximate caloric intake, with french fries, 650. We got there a little before noon and the restaurant was empty, but it did fill up with a nice crowd as time went on. My friend suggested Ailleo's for Buffalo Wings and we well probably re-visit for that menu item. |

For some reason, being in a clean restaurant, seeing people enjoy themselves, made me feel good. A sort of, "this is what life is all about feeling.". A friend of mine was at the Iowa state fair last summer where he counted the number of foods they had on a stick. He said it was a good day and asked me if that was what life was about. (maybe he was being ironic, but i didn't answer it that way). In my opinion, yes life is all about food on a stick. It's about enjoying things wth the people you love. Trying new things (like a fried snicker's bar on a stick), Laughter. Companionship. Walking on clear blue days and clean restaurants. |
