The Contest | ||||||||||||
It started with a simple visit we made with the children to the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site on April 3, 2001 in Hyde Park, NY. While browsing through the book store I happened to notice a small book on sale called "Passport to the Your National Parks." Inside was a brief description of the parks operated by the National Park Service as well as a place to "stamp" the Passport with stamps (you know, the rubber stamps you blot onto the ink pad them press down on a blank sheet of paper) located at each of the NPS's sites. I bought the book thinking it would be kind of fun to keep a record of our travels over the years. The kids might find it amusing, and if not, I certainly would. Holy Hell broke lose when my mother came to visit. Both she and The Donald saw the Passport, decided they needed to get one and then BOTH of them decided they needed to out-stamp us. Now I know that Mom is ultra-competitive. What shocked me was The Donald's Vince Lombardi streak. You learn something new every day. I am not one to shy away from a challenge. The gauntlet has been thrown down. Let the games begin. |

Eastern Team Stamps 33 Western Team Stamps 40 MidWestern Team Stamps ? |
||||||||||||
A new team has entered The Contest, The MidWestern Team. I'm waiting for a complete list of stamps obtained and the official rules of the game, in their current version has been outlined to the Team. The Western Team has opened a can of whoop ass on The Eastern Team. This is embarrassing. |
