Rescue-Sloan
Chapter 3
Disclaimer: I don’t own Prey. I’m just borrowing it. I’ll give it back when I’m through. I’m making no money on this. Tom, Sloan, Ed, Attwood, Peterson, Mark and Lewis belong to Prey; everything else is mine. Read and enjoy.
Jason comes in one day with a newspaper and shows it to Walter. "Well it appears that watching the newspapers has paid off." He shows Sloan and Ed the newspaper. An ad in the personal section of the paper reads 'Sloan, I love you. I want to be with you. Tom' followed by a box number rented from the newspaper. "Tom has made a friend."
"You mean this isn't really Tom?" Sloan asks.
"Probably not. If he could get to where he could put an ad in the paper he could get home. I think that this is in the paper in order to let us know they have information. And they need to get it to us. Mark, can you set up an e-mail address to receive information? Make sure it is large because we don't know how much information they will send us. We will need someone to monitor it to make sure we get the information as soon as possible. If this is someone who is his friend, he may be put in a great deal of danger by helping Tom and eventually us to rescue him."
"Sloan, why don't you go with Mark? We'll get things set up and send a letter. With any luck in a couple of weeks we'll know where he is and maybe who has him."
It's starting to look like Tom may be coming home, thought Sloan.
Meanwhile, they find she is in charge of 6 top-secret bases. Two are easily enough to check out. They are guarded but they are still mostly out in the public. Of the other 4 one is in Alaska, that one we will check out last. Two are going to be hard, because they are on military bases and will be hard to get to. The last is an underground base used at one time for biohazard research but supposedly has been abandoned.
She wandered over to have another cup of coffee when her mind wandered to what they could do. The two 'public' sites had already been explored. No sign of any Dominants. Now they were working on a plan of attack on the military bases. They could go in as visitors perhaps if they could get a reason but the site of the lab was probably secret. They could send in an attack team but that might be dangerous also. And they had no way to infiltrate the biohazard base. They weren't even quite sure where it was. Sloan was on her third or was it fourth cup of coffee when the word came. They were receiving information from the e-mail site. Soon they would know what was happening.
