2007 Central Lakes     Conference Championship
The boys meet pitted MN#3 Brainerd and MN#7 Willmar in a match up that proved to come down to the wire. In the end Brainerd clipped Willmar by 3 points to win 31-34.
Willmar was led by CLC champion (MN#3) Mahad Hassan in 16:08.  Only four seconds behind was fellow junior and MN#9 Drew Paradis of Alexandria in 16:12.  Brainerd was led by junior stand out Thomas Ruttger and senior Luke Delaney in 3rd/4th. Willmar's and MN#12 Andrew Nicklawsky came in 5th place.
Willmar's rest of the lineup was rounded out by Mohammed Hussein, Abshir Ahmed, David Anderson, Zac Coquyt and Ryan Larsen.

Willmar's next meet is the regional meet for section 2AA at Chaska on October 25th.  A preview of that meet will be out next week.		 On the girls side, the Brainerd girls dominated the field like last year, but a newcomer surprised the field in 8th grader Jamie Peipenburg of Alexandria who won the meet in a good time of 15:19.  Brainerd (MN#12) won the meet with 49 points to Alexandria's 91.
The Willmar girls ran as a pack, putting together a spread of just 28 seconds. The next closest spread by a team in the meet was 81 seconds.  Although in a smaller meet like this, not having any front runners hurt the Cardinals a little.  The girls placed 4th, only one point of 3rd. Willmar was led by Jackie Johnson and Emily Ellingson in 16th/17th place respectively. Rounding out Willmar's top 7 were Jayne Cole, Erin Sheehan, Danielle Erickson, Karlie Hoffer and Ashley Wigton.
