The Willmar boys pushed the pace early at the unshaded trails of Greystone. Early leaders were Mustafa Yusuf, Kaafi Adeys, Abdi Awale and also Kyle Schmidt of Hutchinson. These four came across the 2 mile mark at 10:19. Schmidt of Hutchinson faded back and the 3 Willmar runners pulled ahead while waiting for their 4th runner Mohammed Bedel. These four finished the race together coming all within a second of each other. Andrew Nicklawsky, Willmar's 5th runner crossed the line in a time of 17:25 for 11th place. #1 ranked Willmar compiled a score of 20 to #7 Wayzata's 51 points. These are all the results I have as I was not at the meet. Girl's results may be posted at a later time.
Of note, Mahad Hassan of Willmar, won the JV race in 16:58. This would have given Willmar a perfect score of 15 had he run Varsity.
