Dr. Lyle G. McNeal - 11/21/00 21:49:35 My Email:sheepman@cc.usu.edu | Comments: Super site. Good job. I am in the process of trying to build a website etc. for the non profit organization I founded in 1977, "The Navajo Sheep Project; Serving People, Preserving Cultures". My work has been to rescue from near extinction, systematic lly breed back, and re-deploy the traditional Navajo-Churro sheep to the Dine. It's been a tough uphill battle, which led to a lawsuit against the land-grant university where I have taught for 3 decades. Keep up the good work., 'Doc' Dr. Lyle G. Els Verbanck - 11/15/00 11:48:40 My Email:els.verbanck@emea.gateway.com | Comments: hiya, I've stumbled across your site accidently, and I've enjoyed scrolling through it. It's really very nicely designed, and I've come across a lot of information I didn't know before. Thanks for that. I had a flip through your guesbook aswell, and must sya th t that disappointed me. Not your doing, ofcourse, but i had hoped for more kindred souls. It seems that 95% of the people hitting your site, do so because they have to (teachers, students, looking for background info on something they have tot do , instea of choosing to do). I don't know why i am so interested in Native American history, culture and so on, i just am. Ever since i was a child. I know for a fact that i have no American blood in my veins (i'm from Belgium). If you have any time to spar, could you send me some in o on Native American writers? I've read "bury My Heart At Wounded Knee", ofcourse, and about the life of Sacargawea, when she travelled with Lewis and clarke. Some stories about Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse... As you can see, all fairly standard works, the kind most people know. If possible, I would like to get my hanmds on some more books, literature, poetry... So if you have a list or something, could you please email me? Thanks in advance. blue skies Els |

Anne Garry - 10/21/00 23:57:17 My Email:annieg@mindspring.com | Comments: I just came accross your web site. I'm doing some research for a term paper on the the devistation that the Europeans created when they started coming over to America. Maybe I should e-mail you what my main topic is and you can direct me in the right di ection to gather enough info for about 6-8 pages. I myself am a native born, but not of an Native American tribe. I wish I had roots in a tribe. I would really like to learn more about the origonal people of this land. Most are very proud and creative people and hold their traditions in such high reverance. Whenever I talk with a Native America, I apologize for my ancestors for the cruel and unspeakable treatment that they inflicted on the Natives. Your web site looks so interesting I know I will be coming back again. Thanks for all your hard work. Most respectfully, Anne Garry |

I was impressed that your childhood hero was Zorro. He was always my favorite too. 'Cause I have a name that starts with the lett r "Z" I can and still do, use that brazen sword-slash for justice - Z - to begin writing my signature. Did you know that the original book about Zorro was written by a Tsalagi? I appreciated the spirituality expressed on your site too. By the way, I've got some "Green" ancestors as well...hey, who knows...maybe we're related back there somewhere. Peace, Zane Ivy |

Susan Kniebes - 08/08/00 21:59:36 My Email:susankniebes@idcomm.com | Comments: I'm trying to find out more about the kachina referred to as "Sha'lako" by the Zuni and as "Sa'lako" by the Hopi. I'd like to know what it represents, what it looks like, and what its significance is in their ceremonies. My husband and I are do research on old graves and cemeteries in Larimer County, Colorado, and found the word "Sha'lako" as the first word on a grave marker on a ranch in the Larimer River Valley. The name of the deceased is on the line below the word. He was interested in Native Ameri an lore and had his ashes scattered in a nearby canyon during a Native American ceremony of some sort. He was NOT a Native American himself. Any help you can provide would be most appreciated. |

marty butler - 07/13/00 01:08:49 My Email:butlermarty@hotmail.com | Comments: this site is without a doubt the best all around native american site i have ever seen. i have searched for YEARS on history, culture, and other things to do with my own ancestry from the Oklahoma Cherokee, and ive never seen a site quite as extensive as yours. i was very bewildered to see the counters on each of your pages(yes, i visited every single one!) so low. i know now where to come for research now, and i want to thank you for making this site. this information was exactly what i was looking for and i think now that i need not look anywhere else. sincerely, your fellow tribal member and brother, marty butler |
