Talking to your parents can be one of the most difficult
things you do as a young witch. Parents often have the media idea of witches and are therefore afraid of you having anything to do with it. (Which just means they love
and care about you.)

When talking to parents, its important to not drop the witch bomb and to start by talking about God, the universe
reincarnation, nature, etc. Then you can gradually bring out that you are interested in wicca. Tell them your beliefs
and morals and ethics. That you don't worship Satan, but
a positive entity. If possible, hand them a book or webpage
explaining everything about wicca to them. (I will post one
that you can print off and give to your parents.) Then, at the end of all of that, ask them what they think. If they have a positive answer, then thats great, be the best wiccan you
can be. Try to make better grades, do your chores without
being told, be more polite, be more considerate, have more self confidence, go the extra mile, etc. This will show them that wicca is obviously having a good effect on you.

If your parents have a negative answer to
your change in religion, then try talking
calmly about it to them. About why they think it is not good for you. (maybe they have misunderstood something you have said.) If they still refuse to be positive, then thats fine. Don't raise your voice, cry, or get angry. Don't slam doors or stomp off. If you get increasingly angry, just take a deep breath and calmly end the conversation and go somewhere to calm down.

You can go back and try again later to see if your parents can be swayed, but if not you have two options. 1.Continue practising the Craft. 2. Give it up until your older, or until your parents get a clue.

Remember that parents don't respond well to threats or the 'you can't make me" phrase.

If your parents can't be swayed, don't sweat it. You can practise in secret.
You can hide books and folders by putting covers on them that say "English" or "Algebra". Stuffed animals with slits in the backs can hide tarot cards, runes, herbs, stones, and other small thing. Simple candles and incense can be placed around the room without suspicion. You can buy paintings of nature or draw pictures of how you see deity.

Above all remember that religion is in the mind and heart. They can't take away your prayer, meditation, astral travel, or daily devotions. You can say chants, do mind rituals and spells, do cloud or candle scrying and pick flowers in your backyard to use as herbs without much question. Casting a circle and invoking deity are also still possible without much supplies. Being a witch doesn't mean how many spells you do, or what you wear. Its how you live and interact with others.

Buy a pretty dress at Walmart for your ritual garb. Use a card table and make a cloth for a movable altar. Ask your parents for a pet and have yourself a magickal partner. Try finding other wiccans in your school to communicate with. Use the internet wisely.

With all this  done you can find many ways to be wiccan even though your parents don't like your choice of religion. What they don't know, can't hurt them.....
