Kendra

Becoming Part 1

Character: Kendra was the slayer called after Buffy died the first time. Almost the opposite of Buffy, she illustrated what the perfect Watcher's Council Slayer was. In Becoming Part 1, Kendra is offed by Drusilla after Buffy follows a trap set by Angelus. (Season 2, Episode 21) Custom Figure: Kendra is mainly created from a Buffy Series II figure (Moore Action Collectibles). The head was popped off and replaced by a Storm head from the X-Men Movie Series 1 (Toybiz). Sculpting with Super Sculptey was used to create the wider hips with baggy pants and boots, wider torso with tank top, and the cornrows and ponytail for the hair style. She was painted using Hobby Acrylics (not recommended). Accesories/ Base: Mr. Pointy was made with Super Sculpey with a small wire loop at the fat end. The leather jacket comes from an X-Men vs. Streetfighter Cyclops (Toybiz), which I Sharpied Black. In Retrospect: For my first Buffy figure (and second custom overall), I was and am quite pleased with her. While my skills weren't very good, and my materials didn't help (old crumbly Sculpey and anal "Hobby" Acrylics), I think this figure helped me learn about sculpting hair and clothing. Where is it now?: Recylced for use as Becoming Part 2 Buffy.
