consciousness stuck
in my throat
with the
words I cannot
say.
words
kill
and
words
begin.
I cannot take the
risk
of
breathing
alone,
so I seek out
my patch of
heaven
and press myself
beneath it
until I am numb with the cold
and sky is all
I see.
