So anyway it’s my eighth grade year of school and I am out of gym class with bum knees (Osgood-Slaughter’s was the name the doctors used). So I was put in 9th period study hall which my buddy Matt also happened to be in. One day we were just having a conversation. I do not know how it came up, but he was talking about the most important things in his life. He mentioned school, his family and God. Now I considered myself a pretty devout Catholic. I prayed every night, I went to mass and CCD every week—and I was even one of the good kids there, but I thought to my self. “That’s odd… Having God listed as one of the most important things to you.” Then I thought to myself again, “Isn’t that the way it is suppose to be?” I think it is with this revelation that my spiritual life become more of a focus. |
