So anyways, I am helping all these little kiddies make there bird feeders, instructing them to smooth the peanut butter all over the pine comes and then roll them in bird seed. After one demonstration, inspiration strikes, and I add to the end of my spiel that not only do birds like these feeder, but they also make great snacks. At which point I took a bite out of the one I just made in my demonstration. The reaction was much what I was hoping for. Some "Eeeeeeewwwwweeees!" but a lot of smiles and giggling. Before long my friend Nils, who is almost as crazy as I am, started chomping down when he did the demonstration as well. I think, between the two of us, we worked up a pretty comical routine... We even heard one adult say "Where did they GET these guyes!?!" Eveything was going great... that is until one point during the day when we looked over as saw group of kids eating their bird feeders. One young lad belted out, "Man, this is good!!! I'm not giving it to no birds!" Oops... my bad. Kind of makes my wonder if that adult really ment "Where did they get THESE guyes?!?" And to answer your question, no I did not take a bite of the pine cone when I was showing the governor how to make the feeder. |
