BLOW THE TRUMPET

The sound of the trumpet
calling us to pray,
is only one sign
Jesus is on His way.

According to Joel
the Holy Spirit would come
bringing the power
Of Jesus the Son.

His caution and warning
of what lies ahead,
calling God's children
to hear what He said.

Gather my people.
Then call for a fast.
The time is coming
this lull will not last.

Repent my children
before it's too late.
Rid yourself of sin
and all of your hate.

Right into my arms
I long to gather you
I will have pity
If you will start anew.

God says come back to me
I will gladly restore
All you used to have
and give you much more.

The prophet has called out.
Can we shut our ears?
We must run to the altar,
bow down and with tears.

We must surrender all
We must trust in Him.
For the days are more short
than they ever have been.

"And I set watchmen over you, saying, 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet!' " Jeremiah 6:17

"On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent."
Isaiah 62:6

BLOW THE TRUMPET IN ZION!

Blow the trumpet in Zion,
        And sound an alarm in My holy    mountain.
        Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble;
        For the day of the LORD is coming,
        For it is at hand....

Blow the trumpet in Zion,
        Consecrate a fast,
        Call a sacred assembly;
        Gather the people,
        Sanctify the congregation,
        Assemble the elders,
        Gather the children and nursing babes;
        Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber,
        And the bride from her dressing room.
        Let the priests, who minister to the LORD,
        Weep between the porch and the altar;
        Let them say, "Spare Your people, O LORD,
        And do not give Your heritage to reproach,
        That the nations should rule over them.
        Why should they say among the peoples,
        "Where is their God?"
