ENCLOSED COURTYARD
The courtyard is inviting
Benches to sit on
Vine-covered trellises to protect us
From the hot sun
Cooling ponds to soothe our nerves
Whose waters refresh us
Once we have entered
There is no way out
Guards do not allow our escape
Those controlling the courtyard
Are free to leave
and want our presence
We are tricked
Are we to spend
the rmainder of our lives
in enforced tranquility?
