ESSAY ON DETERMINING PERSONALITY TYPES

Introductory Remarks

Personality Types and Subtypes

Investigation is still ongoing on the relationship of expansive and contractive forces to one another and on how they affect personality types. Tentative conclusions are to the effect that there are nine different personality types, and twenty-four different subtypes. These nine personality types, referred to as Type A through I, are based upon three major ways that expansive and contractive forces can join together to affect the personality of a person. In turn, each of these nine personality types are expressed in one or three different subtypes. Thus, there are nine personality types and a total of twenty-four subtypes. with one or three subtypes being subtypes of a personality type A through I.

The Three Categoies of Combined Forces

The three major categories are as follows:

1. Contractive forces that are component parts of a person, which may not have combined with a sufficient number of expansive forces, with the result that a person may have more contractive forces than expansive forces (termed a "P" state), or conversely more expansive forces than contractive forces (termed a "F" ), or an even number number of expansive and contractive forces (termed a "B" state).

2. These various states, in turn, might combine together or might not combine together and relate on a combined level to one another. At this level of relationships, the forces could again relate to one another to form "P", "F", or "B" states. The combination of states would include states that are self-duplicating and combined with other states that are or are not self-duplicating. In turn, a person might have more self duplicating expansive forces, or more self-duplicating contractive forces, or an even number of self-duplicating contractive and expansive forces that are component parts of his persinality, Thus, "P", "F" and "B" states would arise from the combining together of self-duplicating forces.

Triune, Secondary, and Tertiary Expressions

As to each person, the triune expression is primarily "F," "P," or "B." This triune expression serves as a thesis to and gives rise to a secondary expression that is the antithesis to the primarily expression. The third or tertiary expression than acts to synthesize the primarily and secondary expression. Thus, each of the three major truine expressions gives rise to three means by which the expression is manifested, resuling in Types A through I and one or three Subtypes of each type based upon the primary, secondary, and tertiary nature of the three expressions comprising each of the nine types. Types FFF, CCC, and BBB each have only one subtype, with the tyoe and substype being identical. An analysis of the nine personality types allows us to determine personality characteristics of a person, with physical characteristics of the person determined more by an analysis of the particular subtype to which the persons belongs.

Subsumed Personality Types

Ectomermic, mesodsermic, and endodermic cells are discussed in an essay on the Emergence of Life. There are clear personsality differences among these bodily types, but these personality differences seem to be subsumed by the analyses of personality types discussed in this essay. The Jungian personality types of the intuitive, feeling, sensory and mental also seem to be subsumed by the personality types discussed in this essay. The extrovert, introvert, and ambivert personality types are likewise subsumed by the personality types discussed in this essay. At the same time, it would be iluminative to speak of a person`s being primarily a mesomorphic personality type or as being primarily a feeling type of person or being an extrovertic feeling person or an introvertic mesomorph.

Bases of Formula

The formula used to determine a personality type is based upon the nine different ways that "F", "P", and "B" major categories can be combine together to influence the personality features that a person of a given personality type has. The nine different ways of each Type are as follow:

FFP (Type A), FFB (Type B), FFF (Type C), PPB (Type D), PPF (Type E), PPP (Type F), BBF (Type G), BBP (Type H), and BBB (Type I), with each of these nine types being of one or three subtypes, leading to a total of twenty-four subtypes.

Personality Attributes Associated with Formula

In general the "F" component leads to flexibility, open-minded, extroversion, tolerance, and, on occasion to a certain flickery quality. The "B" component leads to stability, reliability, reasonability, and, on occasion, to rigidity and stubornness. The "C" component leads to athletic ability, introversion, practicality, earthyness, and, on occasion to close-mindedness and intolerance. These components seem to be, in a minor way, affected by whether the "F," "P", or "B" as component parts of the formula refer to montons, unitons, or biotons, but the interelationship between erxpressions as component parts of centripetal and centrifugal forces in general seem to be more significant than the particular centripetal or centrifugal forces of which they are a part. If all combinations of centripetal and centrifugal forces are taken into consideration, there would be twenty four personaility types rather than nine. Preliminary analysis, however, suggest that there are nine major personality types resulting from synchronous enfolding, with the other types, classified as subtypes under the synchronous enfolding, being subordinate or derivative from the nine major synchronous types. The operative effect of the major types seem clearly established, with the subtypes serving as a basis for further refinement.

Differences Between Formulae for Types and Subtypes

The Type formulae, for example for Types A through I, are based upon interrelationship among their three component parts, independent of whether these component parts are primary, secondary, or tertiary. In other words, the formula for Type A, the Adventurer, which is FFP, is based upon the interrelations among three component parts but does not set forth which part is primary, secondary, or tertiary. The Subtitles to FFP, which are FFP, PFF, and FPF, set forth the primary, secondary, and tertiary nature of the component parts. It is the interrelationships that have the most profound affect upon a person, with the primary, secondary, or tertiary nature of these component parts having a lesser effect. Ordinarily, the component parts that are primary in nature outnumber the secondary and tertiary component parts, and the secondary component parts outnumber the tertiary component parts.

Description of Personality Types

Type A: THE ADVENTURER

Adenturers are very outgoing persons with considerable energy, very likeable, who have a fondness for travel to out-of-the-way places. Adventurer are open minded, tolerate, and live-let-live type of persons. They are very practical, and a 8 to 5 job is not to their liking. They would be well-suited as travel guides to exotic places such as Egypt, Africa, or India. The adenturer get along very well with Type G, the MEDIATOR, and has a special fondness for Type I, the VIRGIN, of either sex, and with the opposite sex would find Type F, the ATHLETE, very exciting. Type Formula FFP. Subtype Formulae FFP, PFF, FPF.

Adventurers of Subtype FPF would be attracted to more adventuresome activities, such as mountain climbing and sky-diving. They are often more robust in physique than adenturers of subtypes FFP abd PFF.

Type B: THE ENTREPRENEUR

Entrepreneurs are very independent people, clearly not team players, who like to be their own boss. They are imaginative, and they have many ideas concering inventions and business ventures. Many of their ventures fail, but eventually they will hit upon an idea that is a winner nnd could become extraordinarily successful. They do not, however, have any talent or interest in running and managing a large corporate enterprise and may sell out their enterprise to others who have more administrative and organizational skills. The entrepreneur gets along well with Type I, the ATHLETE, and Type H. the GOOD FRIEND, and with the opposite sex will be drawn towards Type I, the VIRGIN. Type Formula FFB. Subtype Formulae FFB, BFF, FBF.

Entrepreneurs of subtype FBF would probably have a better chance of one of their schemes being successful than entrepreneurs of subtypes FFB and BFF. But entrepreneurs of subtype FFB probably have more fun in their endeavors. .

Type C: THE SOCIAL BUTTERFLY

Social butterflies are people who are extremely extrovertic in their thinkung, emotions and social behavior. They do not like to be by themselves and prefer to be surrendered by people. Although warmhearted and kindly, other people often are irritated by the loquacity of the social butterfly. The social butterfly is not sensitive to nuances in their environment and is often unaware that others find their constant chatter intrusive. The social butterfly gets along well with Type I, the Virgin and often finds Type F, the Athlete, sexually attractive. The Type and Subtype Formula FFF.

They are often slender and of medium height. They do not usually have to watch their weight and can eat rich food without gaining weight. They are the envey of persons who gain weight readily.

Type D: THE MANAGER

Managers are persons of a rather serious demeanor, who pride themselves on their practicality and sensibility. They are disciplined in their approach, and at the supermarket they keep tract of the listed prices of what they are purchasing. The checker better not make a mistake. They like to advise persons on how to correct their preceived faults. They make excellent managers and are fair in supervising persons under them. Managers like Type G, the Mediator, and Type H, the Good Friend, with whom they can depart somewhat from their serious demeanor and are drawn towards Type F, the Athlete. Forumla PPB. Subtype Formulae PPB, PBP, BPP.

They are often above average in height but have a tendency to put on weigth if they do not keep to a diet. Ahthough disciplined in many areas, they may lack discipline in keeping to a diet, and they have been known to overindulge in eating. Those of subtype PBP are in better shape but not as friendly as those of subtypes PPB and BPP.

Type E: THE POLITICIAN

Polticians are persons of considerable physical energy, practical intelligence, a strong ego, and a srong sex drive. They have self-confidence and have been known to over-estimate their abilities. They welcome the leadership role more than achieving a set agenda. They may be very likeable, are often considered to be sexual attractive by persons of the opposite sex. They may wear either a conservative, moderate, or liberal image but their main urge in life is the assertion of their selfhood. The politician cultivates friends among nearly all the personality types and is usually drawn to the various types equally, although they may find themselves especially drawn towards Type B, the Entrepreneur. Type Formula PPF. Subtype Formulae PPF, PFP, FPP.

Politicians of subtype PFP often have considerable charm and are well- liked by both men and women. They are aware of their charm, and have studied the means of utilizing it to further their careers. Poltiticians of subtype PPF are often very much dedicated to political goals and once dedicated to particular goals are more concerned with the goals than the means of achieving the goals.

Type F: THE ATHLETE

Athletes are persons of a strong need to release tension by physical activity and exercise, a strong ego, and a better than average sex drive. They are self-centered and are constantly aware of their bodies and of their aches and pains. If in professional sports, they act as if they are unconcern with their bodily sensations, but this apparent lack of concern is a cover-up. Both men and women athletes are well aware of their best and worst physical features. They tend to be introvertic, highly disciplined in their need for physical activity, but less disciplined in controlling their sexual urges. Often they may display comradeship with members of their own sex but they really do not like them all that much. They are too competitive with them and usually like the opposite sex more than their own. They do often find Type A. the Adventurer, exciting and may be especially drawn towards TYPE C, the Social Butterfly. Type and Subtype Formula PPP.

Since athletes have an indentical type and subtype formula, they are not as diversified in their expressionas as those types that have three subtypes for expression. Athletes share with the Social Butterfy (FFF) and the Virgin (BBB) identity between type and subtype.

Type G: THE MEDIATOR

Mediators are persons with a balanced sense of fairness who express their views in a moderate and reasonable manner. Other persons look up to them for their controlled expression of opinions and have confidence in the mediator`s impartiality. In turn, mediators obtain much satisfaction for their talent in getting persons to compromise their difference. Along with being by profession mediators, they make good lawyers, excellent psychotherapists, and outstanding teachers. They are not usually interested or successful in politics or business. They may be effective in small gatherings and in person-to-person confrontations but they lack the charm to sway large audiences. The Mediator gets along very well with Type A, the Adventurer and may be especially drawn towards Type B, the Entrepreneur. Type Fomula BBF. Subtype Formulae BBF, BFB, FBB.

Mediators of subtype BFB make the best teachers, who are often highly respected by their students. Subtype BBF make the best lawyers, and subtype FBB should definitely become professional mediators.

Type H: THE GOOD FRIEND

Good friends enjoys helping people, are good listeners, and are more concern with the troubles of other persons` than with their own. Good friends possess a very well-balanced sense of practicality, and their friends look to them for advise, which is usually given only after good friends have listened patiently to problems or difficulties faced by their friends. They may be in various lines of work, but have usually not entered into the legal, medical, psychotherapy or serving professions, perhaps because they enjoy helping people with no desire for, or even an aversion to, financial renumeration. These persons deserve a special place in heaven. They get along well with Type A, the Adenturer, and with Type B, the Entrepreneur and often find themselves especially drawn towards Type D, the Manager, and Type E,, the Politician. Formula BBP. Subtype Formulae BBP, BPB, PBB.

Good friends of subtype BBP are better than the two other subtypes in giving well-balanced and sensible advice. Good friends of subtype BPB are excellent listeners and may refrain from giving advice at all, perhaps because they may be sensitive enough to know when the need is for them to be good listeners and advice would be unwarranted.

Type I: THE VIRGIN

Virgins are persons with an aura of innocence, although they may not be as innocent as they seem. The trials and tribulatons of life have apparently left them unspoiled. They are, however, somewhat surprisingly, good judges of character, and their innocent quality is clearly not based upon ignorance. Perhaps the virgins are the really wise, and have the wisdom not to be affected at all by evil. They may be in numerous and very different professions and occupations, and have even succeeded in cut-throat occupations. Perhaps the innocence of the virgins diarms their competitors who find the conventional tactics in their competitive arsenal ineffective against the virgins. Long live the virgins! They get along well with the Social Butterfly and are strongly drawn towards Type F, the athlete. Type and Subtype Formula BBB.

Determining Personality Types

Personality as Distinguished from Talents and Abilities

In determining a person`s personality type, the focus is on a person`s interests and not a person`s talents or abilities. The formulae for the nine persoanlity types are based upon the primary focus of interest and of attention that a person has. In our view, it is the interrelationships among expansive and contractive forces that are for personality types. Talents, abilities and character are a result of the interrelationships among forces that have become fixed and are participants in patterns of organizations that constitute component parts of a person. These forces cease to be purely expansive or contractive. Type F, the Athlete, does not necessarily have superior athletic ability and in his athletic endeavors may be mediocre. All Types A through I are generally equal in athletic abilities. Some natural-born athletics might not be much interested in athletics and might be of Type B, the Entrepreneur. All types are generally equal in intelligence and in character and in artistic, literary or musical abilities.

Type D, the Manager might, in fact, be mediocre in management just as Type E, the Politician, might in politics be far from being a statesman. Likewise, all types might be equally good in science, but often Types B, the Entrepreneur, B, the Manager, and G, the Mediator, make excellent scientists. If members of Type F, the Athlete, have superior athletic ability, they should become outstanding athletes. Because of the great diversity in poetic expression, all types might have equal poetic talents. Persons may be extremely learned in poetry, and be English professors at leading universities but lack the ability to compose a good poem. Others, ignorant and unread in poetry, might be able to compose beautiful and deeply moving poetry.

Personality Test

None of the existing psychological profile tests are based upon the personality types discovered by an analysis of the ways and effects of combining together of expansive and contractiver forces, although a few of them measures some of the characteristics of the nine personality types and their subtypes. The following is a short test that may help persons to determine their personality types.

OGG PERSONALITY TEST (OPT)

(c) I enjoy officiating at gatherings and making the decisions that are required for this activity.

(d) I empathize readily with the feelings of other people.

Each (a) or (c) selection counts as two Ps, each (b) selection counts as two Fs, and each (d) selection counts as three Bs. The most frequent letter represents the primary component part of a person, the second most frequent letter represents the secondary or antithetic part of a person, and the third most frequent letter represents the tertiary or synthesizing part of a person. The resulting formula may be of a Type or a Subtype or of both. For example, if the formula BFF is obtained, that formula is that of a Subtitle to Title B with the Formula FFB, the Entrepreneur. Thus, the discussion of Type B, the Entrepreneur, would become applicable, with minor consideration being given to BFF as the formula of a Subtitle under Title B.
