Synchronous Folds Giving Rise to Consciousness and Matter
The Two-Way Flow
An Unifying Approach to Consciousness and Matter
THE EMERGENCE OF LIFE
Introductory Remarks
Life emerges from the enfolding of force with form and is concomitant with the emergence of consciousness and matter. Under the Enfolding Universe, life is infinitely divisible as manifestations of life as well as of inorganic processes. Thus, patterns of oranizations of inorganic matter did not combine in such a manner as to lead to organic processes and the development of consciousness. Patterns of organization do not create consciousness and do not create life that is inherent in existence. The brain is a thought transmitting organ and not a thought creating organ. The fact that an injury to the brain might impair thought merely establishes that injury to a thought transmitting might impair the transmission of thought.
We should not confuse coexistnce with causality. The fact that the walls of the stomach may contract during a person`s sensation of hungry does not make hungry the contraction of the walls of the stomach. Life proccesses necessarily couple together awarence of these processes and the material attributes of the processess themselves. Under the Enfolding Universe, the expression of conscousness in evolution from the synchronous interplay of force and form. Force necessarily drawn to form. Form as a category of expression is inherent in existence and is not created by patterns of organization. Form in its enfolding with force descends into particulars so that these particulars thereafter in ascending to the devine oneness of the universe become aware of the grandeur and miracle of existence. Awarence is dependent upon descend and ascent. The Unified Theory accepts as given the miracle of the Enfolding Universe and does not attempt to explain the wonder, granduer and the miracle of existence but only to accept them as given.
Organic and inorganic life are infinitely divisible into one and the other. The classification of life as inorganic or organic is dependent upon the observer or the point of observation. There are universes within the humble protosoan and our Milky Way may be a part of a protosoan in a segue macroscopic by many segues from our segue. But the laws of manifestation are the same in all segues and differences being large and small, few and many, are insignificant in the eternality of the universe with its infinity of dimensions. This fact is recognized by the synchronous reference system and the recognition that light itself is not a spatial-temporal unit of manifestation but is a force with an infinite number of focal points of convergence and divergence.
Life emerges and departs only in a relative way. Life itself is infinitely divisible in patterns of organizations that are constantly emerging and departing from the infinitude of these patterns of organization. The emergence of life relative to a point of observation within a segue is necessarily repeated an infinite number of times and for all eternity. Many people find it difficult to grasp the full implications of the infinite, eternal sea of manifestation. But, an universe limited in time and space and limited in units of manifestation is, in many respects, more difficult to comprehend. Why should the universe have limits and must not there be something beyond these limits, and if that which is beyond is itself limited, must not there be an infinite number of that which is beyond an infinite number of limits?
The paradox that we confront is that life with its eternal flow and infinite dimensions can only be expressed in finite units with limited and not unlimited dimensions. For the universe to express itself it must be quantumized. It is, in fact, the emergence of life, or the quantumization of life within our segue. that gives to our segue its energy, spirit, and monmentum. The quanta of life are both convergences and divergences, with relationships constantly coming together and going apart, that constitute the essences of all manifestations. Without finitude infinitude could not exist. It is for this reason, that biotons are formed in order for the life force to become manifested in our segue.
Forces of unlike nature by their acting together result in unitons, which thereafter led to patterns of organization of non-living matter. It may happen, however that the same point serves not only as a point of origination of an outon and an inton, leading to the formation of an uniton but serves also as a point of origination of several outons and intons that originate together, leading to the formation of biotons along with unitons. In this sitation, forces of both like and unlike kind bind together and unitons are bound together with other unitons, and outons are bound together with other outons, and intons with other intons. The force from the point has immense power and results in a powerful binding together of like with like, unlike with unlike, and like with unlike. Ordinarily, unitons bind together only where they the differ on whether their inner and outer cores are centripetal or centrifugal. Thus, an unit of manifestation has been formed, at this point of extraordinary power, with the capacity of reproducing units of like kind, which is required for consiousness to express itself in patterns of organization.
Biotons are of two type, the first type termed dutons under the Unified Theory, arises when an odd number of biotons originates at the powerful point of origination of unitons with biotons or of one or more biotons originating without the origination of any unitons. The second type of biotons, termed watons under the unified theory, arises when the number of biotons originated at the point is an number three or above. Dutons and watons are attracted to one another, with their being repulsion between watons and watons and dutons and dutons. Dutons have an extremely active force and seek out watons to combine with in order to achieve a balanced state of manifestation. Watons with forces evenly balanced, are more receptive in their attraction to dutons. As a result of the two types of biotons, biotons merge with other biotons and begin the process of building extremely complex inorgasnic molecules.
Biotons are the building blocks of life, leading to complex molecules such ss DNA that reproduce themselves. Patterns of orgaization of life may contain unitons without the capacity by themselves for reproduction. But life itself is based on blocking blocks of biotons with the capacity of reproducing themselves. Biotons merging together act as ingredients of amino acids. It is amino acids that lead to cell formation and not cell processes that lead to amino acids.
The component parts of a bioton are more complex and diverse than those of the uniton. It is its very diversity that installs its capacity for reproduction. Its outer core is itself a composite of centripetal and centrifugal forces and its inner core is likewise such a composite. It has the caoacity for assisting in the formation of units of manifested life consisting of millions of molecules. These millions of molecules may enter into patterns described by Frances Crick and James Dewey Watson as the double helix but it is the lowly biotons that serves as the foundation of life.
The construct of biologists of genes as the basic building blocks for the organic is based upon the features of the bioton. Formerly, biologists thought that the differences between species were based on differences between their genes. It is now recogniuzed that this belief was a great simplification of the nature of the building blocks that leads to the emergence of life. We also now recognize that we have about one-third of the number of genes previously believed to be possessed by us human beings. We probably do not have more than thirty thousand genes in all. About ninety-eight percent of our genes are identical with those genes of the chimpanzee, with only two percent of our genes being different from those of the chimpanzee. Many of our genes are identical to the genes of the fruit fly. It is now recognized that the differences between species are not based upon differences in their genes. Most of their genes are identical with those of other species. The differences are based upon the manner that different species use that pattern of organization termed a gene, with the manner of utilization being an inherent part of the emergence of life forms.
Recent discoveries of biologists were anticipated by the Unified Theory and its discovery of consciousness in evolution towards form. The differences among species would not necessarily be differences in patterns of organization in themselves. Among identical patterns of organization some would be attracted to one form and others would be attracted to another form. Homo sapiens is a form to which the genes of men and women are attracted. As patterns of organizations they may be nearly identical to those patterns of organization by which biological life is expressed but their goal is entirely different. We human beings are not chimpanzees or fruit flies.
The three layers of tissue in the embryo are the ectoderm, the mesoderm and the endoderm. The outer layer consisting of ectodermic cells is centripetal in nature while the inner layer consisting of endodermic cells is centrifugal in nature. The balancing of the centripetal and centrifugal forces lead to the middle layer consisting of mesodermic cells. What gives the cell it individuality is that as a pattern of organization it combines centripetal and centrifugal forces along with a dynamic equilibrium between these forces. Skin, mucous membranes, brain, and the spinal cord are outward in nature and particpate in the movement towards the macrocosm; intestines, stomach, lungs, and liver are inward in nature and participate in the movement towards the microcosmic "blackhole"; and heart, blood vessels, kidneys, bones, and joints are in dynamic equilibrium between outward expansion and inward contraction.
In the emergence of life, centripetal and centrifugal forces enter into an equilibrium, with a balance between outward and inner thrusts. With some persons only a partial harmony between the contrasting forces is achieved, and the thrust may be primarily outward, as in the case of extroverts, or primarily inner as in the case of extroverts. Extroverts have a higher threshold of pain, taste, and general senstivity to manifested reality than introverts. Extroverts have a greater tendency to become psychotic than introverts, but many more introverts become neurotic than extroverts. With their higher threshold of stimulus response, extroverts have fewer defenses than introverts, and when their systems become overloaded, a total collapse may occur. Introversion seems to act as a defense against psychosis and the overloading of the systems of introverts is much less likely than the overloading of the systems of extroverts. Lovers of the subtleties pf fine wines tend to be introverts and serial killers extroverts.
