RESURRECTION

It is time for our resurrection

back from whence we came

We bathe alone in the warm

baptismal waters

Are not the others in want

of being cleansed as well?

But what road should we take?

the high or the low?

Masses of the unbathed

are waiting at the locked door

to the high road

ill-defined yet straight and narrow.

We take the low road

that has no door at all.

Its path is not straight and narrow.

Although well-defined,

it meanders here and there.

Yet it resurrects us

to our starting point.

We are to be patient

accepting many turns on the way

at times going backwards

in a generally forward direction.

We are wise now

and follow the wants of our soul.
