His Story:Thorkell was born around 950 on a small plot outside the city of Kaupang. Thorkell, his younger sister Thaugida, and his baby brother Kilpe were the only survivors of his family of twelve when a plague ripped through the region. His sister was soon married to a local Thane and Thorkell was taken on as a armsman. Having earned a reputation for his trustworthiness, the Thane sent him on many merchanting travels on the Dragon-prowed ship, the Wave Crasher. It was on one of these voyages that he found his bride in Ireland and has since settled a small colony there in the name of his thane.
