I saw an add in the local paper for an 86 GLH in decent condition, so I thought I'd go have a look, the guy wanted 1900 and said the car was in pretty good shape. so I went and had a look, here's what I found. A beat up, horribly repainted glh, needless to say, made me feel better about mine!
Notice it's the wrong color, the wheels are badly oxidized and uncared for, and the lack or rear bumper.
The paint on the front bumper is toast, the fog lamps are a testament to the shape of the rest of the car and whats under it... LOTS OF RUST!
No rear bumper, two bent/broken mounts, a rusted out hatch and a broken tailight.. nice....
whats that parked behind it ;)
Torn seats, broken shifter, moldy carpet and a steering wheel that was peeling and flaking... Yummy..
After seeing the car like this, I felt sick to my stomach, hopefully someone out there will bring this car back to it's original glory. I didn't have the 2000 the guy wanted for it. I'd have given him 500 bucks at the most. I hope it went to a good home.
As of July, I saw this exact same car in a pacthed up shape at one of the local speed shops. Looks like someone is going to take better care of it, and maybe even resurect it to it's former state!
