| 12/23/01 Well, I'm not exactly wandering yet. I've been visiting my parents for almost two months waiting for gear to come in, and now that the gear is here, I'll be leaving after Christmas. The 27th of this December is the planned departure date, just in case you're interested. I'll be headed north, first on the Tuscarora Trail then on the Appalachian Trail. We'll see what happens after that. |
| 08/06/02 As you can see, I haven't really been keeping up with this thing. But now for the rehash of recent and semi-recent events. After waiting so long for gear to come in I went hiking one day, then chickened out and caught a Greyhound to Amherst, MA, where I stayed until my money ran out, which happened to be around mid- March. After that I scurried back to the security of my parents house until my after my sister's graduation from Bethel college in Kansas. Since the beginning of June I've been living in West Virginia working as a raft guide on the Shenendoah and Potomac Rivers. I did this last year as well so I'm getting pretty good at it. Not a whole lot of wandering I know, but I can only try. |
| 02/23/03 Well I've wandered. I've wandered away from my plan to just wander. I've come up with a new plan that will include several moves along the way. Perhaps there will be annual updates now, or perhaps slightly more frequently (nothing new there, eh). At the moment I'm in Tucson, AZ working on a trail crew. I've been here about a month and a have a few more weeks to go. After this finishes up, one more season of rafting in West Virginia and then I'll move onward. I can only wait and see what new path my life decides to take. Until then.... |
| 12/18/03 Finished up my final raft season for a while. That was about a month ago. Now I'm hanging around my parents until sometime next month, at which point I'll be headed to Denver, CO to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC. I'll spend eleven months with them, traveling throughout the central United States doing all sorts of volunteer/community service work. So I suppose I'll be wandering a little in the next year. |
