It is not recommended to use dialup with Ubuntu. If you get it you do not get the extra features that the dialup company provides. You can still use it though if you get the number from your ISP that your computer dials when you go on the internet. To set it up, get the number and open system, administeration, networking.Then click on you modem and click properties. Then put in the information. Make sure you select the box that says "use as defult connection". Then save and exit. If this does not work since Ubuntu does not support most modems...You may need to follow the instructions under Ubuntu help in your computer. |
