Here's Winston, my initial inspiration to write whippet poetry. 1981-1998 |
Hello whippet enthusiast! Welcome to the Winddogpoet. My name is Darren M. Grine a.k.a. The Whip-poet. and this is one of my whippet poetry sites. I am dedicating this page to all of my whippets past, present, and future, and especially to all of my faithful readers from near and afar. Whippets have been part of history dating back to ancient Greece. They have been depicted throughout time in art and literature. This elegant canine is a member of the sighthound family and has long been associated with royalty. Their winsome and whimsical behavior can be addictive and that's what makes the whippet an ideal companion. Some of their talents include lure coursing, hunting, dog show competition, and becoming the favorite family pet. My long-standing relationship and history with my whippets along my creative writing skills enabled me to write contemporary whippet poetry. I have written everything from alliteration to haiku. Many of my poems have been published in Mary Magee's The Whippet Watch Magazine. To view and read more of my whippet poetry, click on the link below.
